We got the keys yesterday afternoon, and promptly headed over to see our new house!  Realized there are many cats on our street, our neighbours WANT to talk to us, and that there is a lot of melting ice around our place.

I made Matt carry me over the threshold (since he did NOT after we got married here and I swear that's why our condo flooded).  Just to be safe, he had to carry me through the back door threshold too...but since I was inside, and didn't know threshold protocol, he carried me both over it to outside, and back inside, just in case.  All will be good from hence forth!

Moved a few suitcases of clothes in, then went to Pickering with Jamie in tow to move the stuff out of my parents house (bed, couch, and ALL our wedding stuff).  They boys did an awesome job, while Jessica and I supervised.  It went really fast, and after a quick bite to eat, we were all moved in to the new house!  Moving my brown couch to the basement was tough...it involved Matt pulling down the stairs, someone pushing above the stairs, and when that didn't work, Jamie decided to jump/shove right on it while my brother held onto it in case it worked at the couch made it through the narrow passageway (which it DID).  Good job boys - took some paint of the wall and there's a brown line through where you shoved it, but easily removed (pictures to come).

Sorted out some wedding stuff, and headed back home.  Now it is moving morning and unfortunately there is too much to do to warrant any more blog time.  Just wanted to give a quick update.

Let the big move begin!

Let's just say it: I hate moving.  This morning I took a few pictures of the disaster that is our place.  It is quiet outside except for the wind whistling through the elevator shafts outside.  I know that this afternoon and tomorrow I will be a crazy ball of stress so I'm just enjoying the calm right now.  Here are the latest pictures of the condo - we packed a lot of the kitchen stuff last night.
Why did I need to organize the hangers before I packed them?  If you know me, you already know that answer if.  If you don't, I'll tell you: I'm nuts.

This afternoon involved lots of packing - somehow still not even close to being done.  We went to see our lawyer tonight - handed him a big cheque for title insurance, his fees, land transfer tax, and property taxes...*sigh*...getting the keys tomorrow afternoon after work!!!

Still lots to do but getting excited!  Now to get through work tomorrow and work like crazy for the next few days!

Here are some cute Valentine's Inspiration photos to celebrate this day!

More peacock coloured, but so rich looking

I like the more casual white pieces paired with the dark walls

I like this - lots of light needed for the dark walls to work

Oh the crown...I feel like I'm on a ship in this one, but I like it!

Don't love the flowers, but the walls are nice and the room is cozy

Comfy spot to rest in a blue room

Bright splashes of colour and white trim to balance out the dark

I love the look even behind these playful shelves!

Wainscotting and starburst and navy - oh my!

Last weekend we took everything off the walls, and this week Matt's been plastering over them, and today he sanded them down (which has left drywall dust over EVERYTHING - lovely).  He's going to paint later today and currently he is in the bowels of the condo in the dreaded storage locker bringing up the closet door we took off (there were 3, and it was hard to get into the dresser, so we took one off years ago), and the leftover paint to cover the plastered areas.

I packed up almost all my clothes (except the dresses - I can't bring them to box them up yet), and a lot of the office.  This has left little space and a TON of boxes.  Here are some pictures of the disaster that is our condo.
Seriously - how do we have so many wicker baskets?
Left - October 2008, Right - February 2010 - similarities?

We are meeting with the lawyer next Thursday to do all the signing, find out the exact payments, and the following day we get the keys.  We are starting the move that night, and continuing into Saturday.  Luckily it's the Family Day weekend - we'll definitely need that extra day.

Our condo is currently a disaster - everything is off the walls and pretty much everywhere possible with maximum amounts of inconvenience and all likeliness that I will run into them in the dark, where I will end up on the floor screaming in pain with a very confused and sleepy husband next to me.  ONE...MORE...WEEK.

Matt's family has been nice enough to volunteer their services for the move since my parents are away in the Dominican.  I am so grateful for all their help!!!

Here are some decor pictures I like recently with some thoughts...I'm thinking of painting dining room at the front of the house a very dark blue, and having the connecting living room a warm white with navy accents throughout...it's bold...hmmm...I'm also loving the soft grey walls and white bedding master bedroom.  Lots of bookshelves will be needed for the study.

Can you imagine my wedding colours matched the above picture? Such a rich colour!

Splash of blue among feminine neutrals

Love the candlesticks - may think of adding some lime in the spring

LOVE the dark floors and light bedding plus the chaise?  A dream bedroom!

Like the wall colour, but style is a bit too minimalist for my taste

That's better, softer - do you think I can convince Matt to have a chandelier in the bedroom?

A cozy corner with a pretty vanity - lovely

Did you know I love books?

Final thought - included only because Marta's little Evan is making my clock tick, haha.
