Sanding went pretty well, although they have been painted so many times that I would never get all of it off, but I did my best. It was my first time sanding something down, so I had to learn somewhere. Once the sanding was done, I washed them in the lake, which worked well, but I forgot to drain one of the chairs (the legs fill with water), and it splashed all over itself when we got them home, but oh well, nothing a good scrubbing couldn't fix. Then the spraying started. I think I did pretty well - very few drip marks, and my finger hurt like crazy, but after 2 cans of spray paint, that was a lot of pressure on my index finger. Oh well, people do it all the time. Here are some of the "after" pictures on our porch at home.
PS - wow I need to sweep or clean my porch!
So my finger was a bit swollen that day, but after another day, it was still kinda numb. Today it's quite tingly and it feels weird typing with it. I decided to Google it, and there are thousands of forums for people with the same experience. Supposedly there is a small nerve that is easily compressed and pinched due to spraypainting, and what's worse, is that the numb and tingly sensation typically lasts more than 6 months! I want finger sensation back....ohhhhhh...
PS - awesome Friends episode in the background...
