Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 21: Reflection I can't take credit for these pictures - they are from our engagement shoot and Joni took them. I wanted to recreate them for this post, but since it is very cold and snowing like crazy, there are no puddles to be found! So instead, her pictures are featured here instead. These were taken in a random alley in Toronto in September 2009! My hair was so short! Up next tomorrow: Your Shoes
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 20: Someone You Love Matt just got back from Ottawa last night - snapped this picture of him laughing at something...probably me... Up next tomorrow: Reflection
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 19: Sweet Werther's - my go-to Candy when I'm driving and need something sweet! Up next tomorrow: Someone You Love
Oops - forgot to publish this one! Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 18: Something You Bought Haven't bought much lately, but I bought one of these prints from Jen Ramos aka MadeByGirl for Hope for Christmas, and then bought another for myself. Still have to get them framed, but love them! Up Next Tomorrow (Today...) - Sweet
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 17: Water Ahhhhh 3 different forms of H2O - how beautiful - ice, water, and vapour. Can you tell I'm a science teacher? Up Next Tomorrow: Something You Bought
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 16: Morning My morning wouldn't be complete without a warm beverage. Most days it is tea - right now I'm loving the Tetley "Sooth" Ginger-Mint Herbal Tea. Starbucks for a hot chocolate WITH whip is my treat only once a week. I took these pictures on Sunday as my weekday pictures would be pretty dark - I get up, leave, and arrive at school in complete darkness from November-April each year! My snowy backyard in the morning. Yep - I shoveled the path. I actually took this through the glass in my kitchen window - turned out really well surprisingly enough! The only thing that's missing is George! The sunlight streaming in to our bedroom. This is the only room that gets a decent amount of light all day long. Oh yeah - I took one of my Christmas presents from Matt - the West Elm mercury glass vase, and put the faux flowers into it and only our ledge. Frees up some space on the night stand. The little lemon candles I got from a student at Christmas too - they smell amazing, and have real lemon seeds in them! The rest of the house only gets sun until about noon. In the summer, even less with the leaves on the trees! But, for now I will enjoy my bright dining room in the morning! Geez, I really need to throw out the poinsettia, half of the leaves are actually on the ground around it! Up Next Tomorrow: Water
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 15: Happiness I took this blurry photo last weekend when Matt and I were cooking together - I have been doing a lot more in the kitchen lately, and it's a lot of fun working together and sharing a good meal. He's away for the week at a conference so I'll be doing all the cooking myself this week for a change - wish me luck! Up Next Tomorrow: Morning
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 14: Something You're Reading So currently I am not reading any physical books, but every day on my 40-minute commute to work I read an audiobook of some sort. Currently I am reading "The White Queen" by Philippa Gregory - I love all her books and this one is no exception. Before that, I read "The Hunger Games" triology and loved that too! Here is Matt's book collection of "to read" books - his common authors are Chris Buckley and Kurt Vonnegut - they both have a large collection of books. I like the Chris Buckley ones a lot and I'll read them when he's finished - very funny political satires. He decided recently to read more classical books, so he picked up some Fitzgerald and Hemingway after watching "Midnight in Paris." Fine with me as long as he doesn't turn into Ted Mosby. :p What I should be reading is more healthy recipes and workout tips and general fitness stuff to go along with my consistent workouts! I have a stack of "Women's Health" - some of which I've only browsed and others that are untouched. Beautiful women on the covers should be my inspiration pictures! Up next tomorrow: Happiness
Here's my January Photo A Day Challenge for Day 13: In Your Bag (Friday the 13th!) Stuff in my purse varies depending on what purse I have. This is my typical "take to work" purse - durable, not too exciting because it's locked in my desk all day. But it's big, so it holds a lot of stuff. I actually just cleaned it out so this isn't half of what was in there before Christmas! The contents? Wallet, Phone, Sunglasses, Driving Glasses, One Glove (I can't find the other), Ipod (crack in top from it being crushed under the seat of my car as I moved it forward), Blistex (more for Matt than me - he can't stand the dry lips), Gum, Keys (showing only work keys on lanyard, but usually car keys and house keys too), Pen (I'm a teacher, can't live without one everywhere), Mirror, Toothpaste (just in case?), and of course, Keg Mints. Not featured? My camera - it's always there! Sometimes I have an umbrella in there, a book, some marking to do, receipts, candy, pretty much anything - I'm like Mary Poppins - it's a bottomless pit. My work bag on the other hand was a disaster that I cleaned out today before this post. If you had any doubt I was a science teacher, this should prove it. Contents? Marking (folder of marking, always - it never ends), Sudoku Book, Pencil case (with pens, random school supplies, and my beloved USB with all my course stuff on it), Stapler (it's a Swingline), 2 Calculators, 2 kinds of Tape (Scotch and Masking), 2 Sizes of Post-Its, Lots of Markers (dry erase, overhead, permanent, non-permanent), A CD called "Here Comes Science", Granola Bar (I usually have a box of them in my desk for if I don't have time to each lunch - happens at least twice a week), Spoon (eww - that has been there for a while I'm guessing), Kleenex, Hand Sanitizer, an Elmwood Spa Receipt (I really need to submit it to get massage money back from my birthday last year!), and Lists (pages and pages of to-do lists). Oh yeah, and the Sticky Tomato from Europe - it splats when you throw it on the ground and reforms - great science demo for physical and chemical changes! Up Next: Something You're Reading
