Our last stop was Messina, in Sicily. It was only a half-day stop, so we left the ship pretty early and had a driver/tour guide take us around to the town of Taormina, which was beautiful. We grabbed some Italian coffee in a cafe and excellent chocolate croissants, and then walked around some more. We saw Mt. Etna in the background erupting slowly, as it has for months, and explored all the beauty to the little quiet town. We were desperate for a last pizza and gelato in Italy, so even though it was 10:30am, we found it! I really wanted more time to explore this port, and I would definitely go back to Italy and specifically, Sicily.
