Saturday we woke up early and headed to brunch with family at Amore Trattoria on Yonge Street. Great food and nice to see my mom's side of the family. We gathered for my mom (Mother's Day), for my cousin Tara's 18th birthday, my uncle's birthday, and to "visit" my grandma at the cemetery, like we do each Mother's Day.
Took a long nap between family events, and then headed to Oakville for Matt's grandmother's (Nanny's) 80th birthday celebration at 3 S's Restaurant on Lakeshore. This restaurant was great - along with incredible food, every 10 minutes or so, one of the waiters or hosts start singing - from classical, to opera, to Broadway classics - it was very fun and there were so many talented performers! We had our own private room too, with a classical guitarist playing throughout. The dinner was for Matt's dad's side of the family, who we don't see very often, so again, it was nice to catch up with family!
We were out really late, so it was good to sleep in Sunday. We decided to walk down and around Queen Street yesterday, and along the boardwalk at the Beach. Got some sun, and exercise, and spent some quality time with the husband, who I sometimes neglect when I busy with school work. We were supposed to do some gardening, but it didn't happen. We walked around for a LONG time, and I had to nap when I got home - geez, I have been SO tired lately, and then we had a nice dinner together. Matt grilled some chicken, made a bit of fettucini alfredo, and we had some fresh foccacia bread too! We watched "Inception", too. All in all, a great, relaxing weekend!
