Every weekend Matt and I imagine stuff we'll do to the new house. It is so frustrating not being able to go in there and get it all done now! We do have 2 times available to go see it before closing to do measurements and exploring, but we'll save that until January.
Matt wants a grey accent wall in the bedroom, with the rest of the walls white - I like this idea, but just wondering what it will look like with the slanted ceiling cutting into the room as well. We'll have to see. We are also getting a white faux french door PAX wardrobe from Ikea (since the closet it tiny). We have a nice deep bedroom so there is a ton of room for it on the wall opposite of the bed. It's exciting to lay that all out as well, but we won't get it until we move and are settled. We are thinking the white and grey, with some sort of accent colour...Matt wants yellow, I want purple - we'll see what happens.
For the main floor, we won't have to do much but paint (cloud white), and add some accents (turquoise, tiffany blue, etc.).
We were going to put the office in the small room beside the master upstairs, but since we have a finished basement with a huge space, we were thinking of using that as an office/library/lounge area with lots of bookshelves and a fireplace and stuff. There is some natural light from a small window as well which is a bonus. This means that the upstairs room doesn't really have a function (at least for a couple of years :p), but I just figured a giant closet would be awesome...Matt didn't so much like that idea. We'll figure it out I'm sure.
We'll use my old condo bedding (the cream and brown with the red sheets) in the guest bedroom, and our current dresser and bureau.
Again - we are not going to buy anything until we are into the house, and at that point we'll do one room at at a time. We have to update some wiring on the main floor right away, so the living/dining room will probably be the first to get done (which means we can have people over sooner), followed by the bedroom. It will also depend on our cash flow too, of course.
So fun to think about, so frustrating to wait for it!
