Yesterday Steph got married!!! Steph was the maid of honour at my wedding, so I was really excited to celebrate with her. Their reception was at the Cambridge Slit Barn, which was beautiful - very rustic and pretty at the same time. This sums up Steph in one picture. Love her. Love this shot of the boys laughing with the bride I know her eyes are a bit closed but it really shows off some of the accessories and gorgeous bouquet, which her sister in law, Natalie, did for her. Natalie has this incredible eye for decor and all things pretty. I really only posted this so you could see my first dutch braid attempt, haha. Queen's Girls! We miss you Holly B! Her step dad's vintage car - he drove her to the ceremony in it. The groom and Carolyn Inside the barn Pretty table decor Jay was the answer to almost all the shoe game questions. Jay does this dance to Footloose that is just great. I've seen it at least twice before, haha. To the bride and groom!!! Outtakes from testing the light while we were waiting for cabs.

My aunt Karen got married last Saturday at the Toronto Wedding Chapel at Yonge & Eglinton. It was an intimate affair of less than 30 people and here are some pictures I took (though I tried my best to stay out of the photog's way so there are some odd angles, haha). Enjoy! Pre-Ceremony Ceremony Signing of the Register Little Details Drink and be Merry First Dance Cutting the Cake Dinner & Dancing
My mom threw my aunt a wedding shower last weekend, and here are a few pictures from the lovely afternoon of ladies and tea parties: My last minute addition - chalkboard welcome. I wish I had had more time to do pretty fonts! Bunting party! Jessica made lavender sea salt scrub using her own garden lavender - smells wonderful! My mom, the hostess - beautiful in pearls! Present-opening room That wicker chair has been used for so many showers! Matt picked some great flowers for me when I was running out of time Devil's food chocolate cupcakes with buttercream - yum! My aunt Karen is getting married in October and she asked me to take a few engagement pictures of her and her fiance Ian. At first I told her no and freaked out a bit because although I LOVE taking pictures, I am in no way a professional, I don't know how to use Photoshop, and I just didn't want to disappoint her with horrible pictures. She assured me that they just wanted a few shots and that I should try it out, and so I agreed. I actually had a lot of fun doing it! Although the pictures are in no way professional, they at least capture a little bit of the love I saw today which made me really happy. We took the pictures at Mount Pleasant Cemetery (in the gardens, relax). Here are just a few of the pictures I took: They hadn't seen me yet The one above is my favourite! She has a pretty iris claddagh ring with an emerald It looks like Ian is dripping from the fountain here Oh wow - the hair and the wall are great together (I see my grandma and my mom in her) Had to include a random bike and basket Ian was trying to make Karen skip - she was having none of it. This made me laugh a lot. Crazy lovebirds... Yes, a bit morbid but I was testing the light and it turned out really well.
There is an even better one but it says "Barber" on it and I didn't want to freak Hope out! Here are a few iPhone photos from Jamie and Hope's wedding - many of which were taken after far too much wine consumption so sorry for the blurry craziness of them, haha. They are still fun!
**Note to all government officials scouring blogs for keywords like "killer" - she is a person named Caroline, not a real killer. It's just a nickname. She's actually the most gentle and kind person ever. That's why it's funny. Please don't arrest her.** Matt and I headed to Ottawa a few weekends ago to celebrate Caroline and Andrew's wedding. They technically got married in Gatineau, but we spent time in both spots (a few pics from weekend wanderings will be in a later post). Had a great dinner on Friday night at the Wellington Gastropub, went for a run, saw all the Red Bull Flugtag "planes" and wandered around the By Ward Market on Saturday, then the wedding took place that evening. Here are the pictures! Gorgeous venue - Museum of Civilization in Gatineau The original point blankets! Sculpture (Matt being arty) Test shot - smile girls! (We all wore blue) Jess, Carolyn and I Matt told Jess not to lean just bend at the knee - I'm jealous of her height!!! PS - It's Jess' birthday today - Happy Birthday!!!! Oh my goodness this was a great day! I am so excited to publish this post because this was such an incredible day, and I am SOOOO happy that Jamie and Hope are now married, and I have yet another sister in law (# 3 to date). Jamie and Hope got married at Archeo in the Distillery District (and got ready at One King West). Here are some pictures from their amazing wedding day: First wedding glimpse this past winter! And the official invite (on the left) in May The Boys Getting Ready Jamie fixing the hair (why in my room? I have no idea) "Jamie! Look at me!" ~ "What Kathleen? Geez!" This would be a perfect picture if it weren't for the toilet, ironing board and unmade bed in the background... Matt ironing the pocket square. He put a bed sheet over the ironing board because it was covered in glitter. Pride weekend festivities? Paul doing up the tie - quadruple Windsor. They made me take more pictures but were deemed immature and inappropriate for blog content, haha. A Few Family Shots My handsome husband, drinking scotch (typical pre-wedding behaviour in this great family) Matt and I (pretty monochrome except for the belt, haha) Lynn and Pete - parents of the groom (love the peplum dress with coordinating tie!) This just says everything. Nothing like a groom drinking scotch holding a sword. Siblings posing for pictures (the longest they could sit still together without fighting - just SMILE!) Best one of the three - the boys love to talk. Meg knows the drill, though. I like Jamie's smirk Jamie telling a really REALLY long joke...that was not that funny... Punchline! Simon and Sonia listening to the emcee Jamie and Hope (Jamie is probably heckling already) Matt and Meg (such a cute picture) Mmmmm dessert trio Most of the next pics are in black and white - bad lighting... Uncle John - the emcee (he spoke at our wedding as well - he's just that good!) First speech - Hope's parents Next up is Jamie's parents Then Matt got to speak in retaliation for his brother's speech at our wedding, haha (just kidding, he actually did a really great job, although Jamie did as well at ours) Grandparents and family listen on - love this picture - everyone looks so focused Listening and thinking of rebuttals He was actually nice, haha, but he did have to have the last word! Cake Cutting & Dance Party Using the family sword to cut the cake Cake was chocolate and vanilla swirl, cupcakes were red velvet or peanut butter chocolate! First dance - City in Colour - The Girl Almost teared up a little here too but held it together somehow Yay Jamie and Hope! Time to party! Just wanted to see the string lights all lit up - cousins Chris and Diana relaxing in the lounge Meg playing DJ *PS - I do not like using my flash - EVER* Yep...that's my husband...dancing? Testing the light Nanny pretty in blue A little bit of socializing First sister-in-law New sister-in-law Finding accessories for my outfit Some pink ombre glitter nails from Tips Nail Bar In the hotel room the night before the wedding - crazy storm (but luckily it broke the ridiculous heat) Dinner at Tratorria Mercatto She's not stressed about the wedding, but she just read about a whale that got beached and died. Just a few pictures from Hope's bachelorette weekend at the cottage. Please note, there are a few pictures that may have semi x-rated images in the background - nothing focused in on, but just in case something looks a bit off, it probably is (after all, it is a bachelorette!!!) Little post about my good friend Caroline's wedding shower. She lives in Ottawa, but her fiance is from just outside the city and his family graciously invited us city people to attend to celebrate. It was humid and rainy but we had a lovely afternoon inside for the start of summer. Jess and Carolyn - representing the Toronto friends Mmmmm treats... The stunning bride-to-be (in less than a week!)
