Can you see all the debris between the stones?
Except for where that welcome mat was...eww...
Today I didn't get to gardening, exactly, but I did clean up the back patio stone and deck quite a bit. There was tons of debris - leaves, twigs, acorns, rocks - all between the stones and it was a messy disaster. It looks much nicer now, but still so much work to do in the actual garden and down the sides of the house. It involved digging out tough rocks and nuts from all the little sections, and a lot of sweeping and shovelling into a big paper bag. I half filled it, but much more to go! Before - last week's garden pictures Can you see all the debris between the stones? After - less sun, but cleaner patio Except for where that welcome mat was...eww... Before - a few weeks ago After - a job well done!

No, seriously. I have almost no knowledge of gardening and plants. I have no idea what's growing...help... My garden a month ago... My garden today - great job, rain! Here's my little vine path The vines look more alive now! Oh I know this one - bleeding hearts - my grandma used to have them PS - this originally looked like weed... I like the orange...so what is it, people? What about this leafy creation? My front garden in the fall...see all those leaves? They are still there... Although I didn't own them to be able to rake until February! It's very wild, patchy, and weird... These WERE purple an orange tulips - I saw them one day while I ran by... I wish I had taken a picture when they were really alive Also some purple stuff... Little purple flowered ground cover - pretty! Wish I could rake the leaves without killing the flowers...it's a lost cause now, isn't it? LOVE the little white flowered ground cover! This doesn't seem to really be growing UP the trellis...more just gathering on top... Maybe it grows downward? Between the houses - is this mine? Probably not...it looks well maintained... Also between, definitely mine...it's a mess There are tags for these things, but they are too worn to read! My disgusting, barren porch.
My neighbour sweeps hers every day, and the sidewalk, and the gutters... Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend! Yesterday before work I stopped and took pictures of all the things sprouting up in our back garden. The backyard was well taken care of, and Matt did some cleaning up a few weeks ago. The front garden is another story...I don't want to think about it right now. I'm glad it's raining, however, my plants needed it! View from the back door - some nice hints of green Cute little corner area I wonder if it will climb up the entire tree We are going to build bench seating and move the BBQ down to the stone area next
It's actually not THAT new - we got it a few weeks ago. My parents bought it for us as a housewarming present, and my brother got us some barbeque tools to go with it - GREAT gift idea! Matt's parents actually thought of the same thing, initially. After living in condos for 4 years, we definitely were excited for some summer time grilling! Broil King, from Home Depot - on sale! The cats and squirrels aren't out hunting yet - usually they sit out on the fence and breathe in the smells every time we are out there! I told Matt to "pose" with his BBQ tools - he says "I'm using a fork..."
so I roll my eyes and tell him to smile and pretend that he is just not enduring my incessant photography of late PS - I also asked him a few minutes ago if he wanted a long and skinny sausage, or a short and fat one, and then I giggled like a 12 year old for a few minutes while he rolled his eyes at me...somehow we work... |
