Specs: bungalow, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, mostly finished basement, parking for 2, some updates
Pros: well kept, nice enough neighbourhood, nice living/dining room, nice updated main floor bathroom, great family room in basement, 2nd bathroom in basement
Cons: tiny kitchen, no real closet space on the main floor, small 2nd bedroom (more suited to an office), wood paneling in basement, scary laundry room in basement, uneven flooring in basement, sloped in roof that may need structural work
Overall: a cute little house, but too small and it would need a lot of work on the basement, as well as the main floor to open up the kitchen, and it was already at the top of our price range.
Specs: 2-story semi-detached, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, finished basement, parking for 1, lots of updates
Pros: really nice neighbourhood with lots of family, lots of updates, good size bedrooms
Cons: done quickly to flip, kitchen layout is weak, basement has low ceilings, bathroom in basement is through furnace room and is tiny, flooring upstairs is not attractive
Overall: Better than the first, but the work was obviously done quick and cheap to flip and not thought through very well, also near the top of our price range
Specs: 2-story semi-detached, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, finished basement (sort of), some main floor updates
Pros: solid brick, lots of space
Cons: where do I start...well...the people who own were home and were very sick, there were about six CATS roaming around and hissing, they did all the work themselves to update which is a bit scary. The basement is a separate unit that smelled like the urine and beer that was all over the man that lived there (who was also I think an ex-con due to his literary choices), his unit also featured a fish tank with bones in it, another cat, a zebra skin rug, and various bottles of alcohol), and was a very scary space.
Overall: the entire place was huge, but would need a lot of santization on the main floors and burning of the basement...in Cindy's words: "do NOT touch ANYTHING!" as we ran through the house. Also it was at the very top of our price range.
Specs: 2-story semi-detached, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, some updates, unfinished basement
Pros: really nice street, nice dining/living space, lots of space, nice size bedrooms, backyard with "potential" - says Cindy and Matt
Cons: needs a new porch, basement is scary with stairs that need replacing, low ceilings is unfinished, and has tiny bathroom very far back in it. Kitchen only has new cupboard doors, but not new anything else, counter is plastic and very small.
Overall: definitely has some potential on the main floor but would need an updated kitchen and dug down basement, and is near the top of our budget
